1.) No ladybugs had ever graced my yard.
2.) I have never, ever dug up an earthworm.
My travels on the Internet have told me that these are very important things to have when growing vegetables.
To my surprise I came outside today to water my flowers and lo and behold, I counted 11 ladybugs in my garden!
This is one of the little guys on my artichoke.

Here's another on some spinach I let go to seed...whoops!

On another good front, Brandon found a (as in singular) earthworm in our front flower bed. I could have cried I was so excited.

cool shots! I have always thought you don't want lady bugs in your garden!
I was just the same way last year - never once saw a lady bug. This year, we're doing much better and it's a relief (except that Michael finds them all and "loves" them to death). Bravo on the worm - I have yet to find one. Proof that Ivory scraped away any real nutrients in the neighborhood! Glad to know I'm not the only one concerned about these things. . . :)
Oh no ladybugs are great! They eat aphids and all sorts of other bugs that will decimate your garden.
No kidding, I have been so surprised by the utter and complete lack of any nutrient in the soil...did nothing but morning glory grow out here before we moved in?
So freakin cool! You got skillz girlie!
