Thriller

This last weekend I met up with my family for Odyssey Dance Company's Thriller at Tuacahn. Tuacahn is great, Thriller is awesome, put them together and you have an experience that is almost better than Christmas morning. Yes, it is that good.

The weather was pretty good, not quite as warm as last year, but it was still almost perfect.

When you first get there you are greeted by cast members that are dressed up and wandering through the crowds. I suspect these are the "junior" members or students at the Tuacahn high school.

This young lady's contacts were frightening, seriously. I also hope that is not her real hair, otherwise that mane will never be the same.

I saw this girl chasing a little boy about 5 or 6 six around a big pole. He was trying to pretend like he wasn't scared and I think he kept thinking that if he kept going around and around, then she'd leave him alone. It didn't work until the lines started moving and the people started moving in.

I love that the characters are MORE than happy to pose with you. I saw one guy pretend like he was sniffing an older lady, ha ha ha, I think she about had a heart attack.

This is the company in the beginning doing the Thriller dance. Last year I was confused because I thought that the whole show was going to be songs around Thriller, but I was very happy to find that they do a lot of dances to a lot of different music, all with Halloween/scary themes.

I was truly sad when it was over, it was extremely nice to have a weekend with my family. We had a really good time and it was sad to see them go!

Pumpkin Carving

This year marks the first time Brandon and I have ever carved pumpkins together. The first two years we lived in a tiny apartment that didn't let my creative juices flow. Then, for two years in our house, we were too busy getting ready for our Murder Mystery parties. So, this year we have the space and the time, so we decided to go for it.

Brandon decided to make his without anything any templates to carve from. On the other hand, I had to use one. when we were finally finished and showed each other what we had done, I was completely surprised and excited to see that Brandon had done Jack Skellington in honor of Nightmare Before Christmas.

Mine was (obviously) a haunted house.

I like 'em enough that I think I'm going to keep them inside so we can see them, even though I do realize this is a fire hazard.

That just means no napping while they're lit.

My Favorite Halloween Decoration

I would like to introduce my favorite Halloween decoration, Norman.

Photobucket

I couldn't tell you exactly what Norman is...perhaps a green devil of some sort, an ogre?? I'm not sure, but I like him. I like him alot.

Photobucket

I got him last year at Gardner Village and instantly liked him when I couldn't figure out what exactly he was.

Photobucket

I like him enough I think that he's going to stay up year round, well at least this year. Who better to usher in 2011 than Norman?

Murder Mystery

I realize that I haven't written in months and months, honestly I didn't think that I would ever post again....but I think that this is too good not to post. I also wanted to be able to show my cousin Breanne the pics.

The characters that I've stuck the pictures up are (in no particular order)
1.) Woody Coffin: A hippie surfer who has been looking for his suga mama. He has found her in Misty Cloud, a fortune teller extraordinaire.
2.) Inspector Elways Blind. He is a luckless inspector who has been working to solve the Hallows Inn Murders for many years....he may just finally have the answers.
3.) Fred E. Krueger and Norma Bates. A couple, newly engaged, who are on their first adventure. Too bad that Fred E. Krueger has no idea that his
fiancee is a murderer!
4.) Earnest Otch: A small time peddler who brings trinkets and other items across the border, illegally. Look at his several popped collars...a true sign of coolness.
5.) Bea Otch: Earnest's wife, very high maintenance and jealous of Earnest's past. Also, she is very in tune with the Ouija board.
6.) This picture shows Inspector Blind interviewing potential suspects...too bad he doesn't realize that his murderer is standing right behind him!

Sorry to all of those that their pictures didn't turn out...or maybe you should thank me. :)
