Mesquite

This last weekend Brando and I headed down to Mesquite with some friends. I have not spent much time in Mesquite since Spring Break 2000. Boy was that a trip and a half...more on that another day.

Mesquite hasn't changed too much. The Oasis has shut down, the Casablanca (where we stayed) is still there. I took advantage of the spa services while we were there, my feet are far more presentable now. I also got an excellent massage, although  my kidneys are still sore. I have never had that happen, I chalked it up to being out of shape. Apparently the massage "worked" my muscles, hopefully that accounted for at least 150 calories and 4 fat grams.

Here we are at the pool. I really, really tried working on my tan. Unfortunately, years of fake baking have ruined my skin. I have a theory that my skin only reacts to artificial UV rays. I slabbed on the 30 spf and didn't get a thing. The next day, I didn't wear any sunscreen, I got a little bit of sun, but not what I would have liked....lesson learned...fake baking = bad for tanning in the real sun and bad for my crow's feet.

I'm also thinking those shades might be a tad large for Mesquite, but you gotta go big or go home in Mesquite right???
