Monsoon Season

When I think of monsoons I think of a ton of rain, crazy lightning and all around a lot of weather. People that I spoke with before moving here also led me to believe that the monsoons down here would be full of rain. Nope. Well...maybe there's barely a little bit of rain...and I certainly didn't expect haboobs.

I learned from the weatherman yesterday that the monsoons in Arizona consist of dark, threatening clouds, dry lightning, wind and then the storm blows out of the valley in the afternoon off to other places to drop precipitation. I'm all 8 inches of water that we're supposed to get during this season is dropped sporadically in places, but as for my house there have been exactly 2 times that it has rained.

What does the monsoon mean for me?? Well, it means fabulous nightly thunderstorms with all of that lightning and beautiful sunsets.

Photobucket

I will not complain about how gorgeous the sunsets are every night here. If only I could give it justice. There are nights that the pink will go from one edge of the horizon to the other. Now, if only I could capture a snap shot of the crazy ace lightning that follows these sunsets....
