Sprinkles

Have you ever been to Sprinkles Cupcakes? I have dreamed that a Sprinkles would open in Utah, but it never came. Lucky for me, there is a Sprinkles in Scottsdale and Brandon and I hit it up on Saturday. Here's the problem with anticipation, you always make everything bigger and better in your mind than its really going to be.

I would say that my visit to Sprinkles was good, but I really don't think that I will be a regular customer.

The pro's of Sprinkles? First on the list would absolutely, positively be the packaging. I swear half of the price (3.25 a cupcake, one of my con's) is the wonderful packaging with exciting stickers and wooden sporks to eat your cupcakes.

Can you beat that? Simple, yet you know what sort of deliciousness awaits!

The next pro? The flavors. My favorite flavor hands down was the black and white. It was a mix of chocolate and marshmallow and lots of frosting. The red velvet was a very close second. PLUS, they decorate for Halloween! I haven't seen a lot of decorations for Halloween around here, but I do plan on making a trip to Jerome soon...so I should be overwhelmed with Hallows-type things then.

Each of these little goodies was delicious and I'm sure my waistline thanked me as I added another layer of padding to it.

As for the cons, I expected the cupcakes to be larger. Now why would you pay for cupcakes that are regular sized????? I guess you could say its the exotic mixes, the flavors of the icing, etc, but couldn't they add in a little bit of extra batter and make it bigger? Or, I have a better idea, make the tops oversized! It would be like the muffin tops on Seinfeld, but cupcakes......

Maybe perhaps one day I will open my own shop and they will be nothing but oversized cupcake tops with lots and lots of frosting on top. Now that's an idea and a half!

ha ha, yeah a lot of things have changed in the past month! Nope, we still have our house. :)

we really like it! Its a bit of a change in the temperatures but other than that it doesn't feel any different from good ol' Utah.
