Week of Reviews

I have decided that I am going to devote the next week purely to reviews of stuff that I am enjoying at the moment.

Today....we're gonna talk about Dexter.

My kind friend Amazon shipped the 4th season right to my doorstep this very day.

I had been hearing for years about how I just had to watch Dexter, how Dexter was just oh so great. Believe me, I didn't buy it. Until the day Brandon and I were in Wally World and the first season of Dexter was 15 bucks. Well then, that sort of a price means its a crime not to buy that sucker.

Brandon and I were hooked after the second episode. We watched the first 3 seasons within 2 weeks and have been waiting almost a year for the 4th season. I'm looking at it right now.....it holds such promises.

The premise of the whole show is that Dexter is a guy who is seriously damaged. He has a very strong serial killer instinct and his adoptive father helps him channel this into something "good". Cuz I guess if he's gonna kill someone, it might as well be a drug lord, or another murderer, right? I will admit, Dexter is VERY gory and graphic. If I couldn't picture how to murder someone before watching Dexter, I now know that I need some good duct tape, rubbing alcohol and a power tool.

I wasn't too sure about Dexter after the first episode. The dead bodies portrayed looked too real for comfort. But...then I watched the second episode and its been a match made in heaven since.

I highly recommend for those with a strong stomach and perverse like for Jimmy Smitz (who yells through his entire cameo the 3rd season.)
