1.) There were piles of furniture just hanging out baking in the sun...
2.) No air conditioning and I was in a dress, my armpits started sweating immediately.
3.) Used stuff, in the past I have been a little wary of used furniture, but that was all turned around once I stepped inside.
It is amazing what that woman can do with an armoire that she picked up at an estate sale. She takes these items, refinishes them, adds cool touches and funky paint jobs and new fabrics on the inside and then resales them. My favorite, and I wish I could have taken a picture, was a large dresser that little vintage rosebuds as the handles. It was painted black and the roses were a light pink...perfect for a little girl's room.
There was a bed frame I fell in love with. It was sadly already promised to a lady who claimed she would come back for it. I really tried everything I could think of, I tried offering to leave with it right that very moment. I figured my dad wouldn't mind driving it all of the way down to my house......but nothing could sway her. I guess there's something to be said for the fact that she told the lady she would hold it until she came back. I even tried calling today to see if it was still there...no answer...I'm going to try tomorrow again.
I did leave with one treasure. The picture doesn't do it justice, its on a vintage lamp stand, but the shade is brand new. It looks red in the picture, and actually looks a little red with the light on but the color is a chocolate brown. I fell in love with the bow on the front.
I probably should have cleaned up the clutter on my dresser before taking the picture, but I'm too lazy. Besides, why not show the real thing, right? If I put everything away on that dresser I would be late to work every morning looking lotion, or rings, or earrings.

I love your lamp shade! What a cute little store. I hope you get the bed frame!
