My Journal

Until the past couple of years I have made a journal entry almost every day if not once a week. Tonight I was cleaning out some of my stuff and I found my old journals. I started flipping through my first coherent one, which was around the age of 8. I found an entry that was absolutely hilarious. I had apparently gotten in trouble and I didn't feel like it was fair. I wrote in all caps along the bottom, "ITS SO NOT FAIR THAT I'M THE OLDEST AND HAVE TO BE THE EXAMPLE." Ha ha, if only I had written what had happened. I even wrote that I wanted to move in with my grandma.

The best part is that I added little things of interest throughout. I even had a little note that was folded up and tied with string. On the bottom it says "Not to Open Until 2000." The note had a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish and the kind of person I wanted to be.

This picture is from our trip to Moab. The caption says "Moab '94". That seems like such a long time ago! I really need to start keeping a journal again. I haven't been very good at it since I got married. There's a lot that I haven't written about.

Lol. I bet your journal has some forgotten hilarious memories. I remember writing in our journals inside one of our 'tents' we made in our backyard. (remember the tents that were held together with the Paskey's clothespins lol) and Morgan put the water hose in the door and sprayed us. I read the entry awhile ago and apparently we were the most upset about getting the cat wet. lol. Do you remember that?

Oh man, old journals are the best. I have couple entries where I talk about and draw pictures of what happened on that episode of Batman. They get wild & crazy in middle and high school. But I miss it too, I still keep a journal but I've had the same one since my daughter (who is 4 now) was born. So, yeah, I'm not a great journal writer anymore.

Bre, I do remember those tents! I wonder why our parents just didn't buy us our own clothespins? Then we would never have had to bother the poor Paskey's. I'll bet they had a lot of clothes that had to wait to dry until we could get our tents done! I don't remember the specific time that we didn't want the cat wet, but if I remember correctly, we were very worried that it was very traumatic for a cat to have to face water....especially after the kitten in the pool "pretending to be Surf N' Swim" moment...do you remember that? That was tragic.

Olivia, isn't it amazing how once you read a journal post you can almost remember every detail of that day? It seems like the times in my life that I didn't journal are a little more blurry to me. I guess that's the good thing about blogs! Although granted, I'm not nearly as honest in a blog about feelings etc as I would be in a journal.
