These are my cakes, snug as a bug, in my freezer waiting to be frosted tonight. I was very glad to learn that there are ways around my crumb problem. You have to freeze your cakes for a day before you attempt any fancy dancy frosting techniques. Ah...of course! I knew there was a trick to it.
Wish me luck tomorrow as it is the second class of the "Buttercream Frosting Cake Decorating" class. Mindy and I also attended our first fondant class on Wednesday. My takeaways:
1.) Get there half an hour early so I can sit by Mindy instead of the very professional cake business owner.
2.) Make sure I actually bring all of the supplies I need.
3.) Brush up on cake decorating terms so that I don't look like a complete idiot when the teacher has to show me how to hold my icing bag, (since we're supposed to have been finished with class 1 before starting this class...whoops!)
I ended up eating most of my frosting at the last class since my bag burst, frosting went everywhere and I didn't bring a towel. Oh well....I licked it right off of my fingers right in front of Miss Professional. I could see her looking at me through slanted eyes...oh the judgement. The delicious taste made up for any embarrassment. It. Was. Completely. Worth. It.

Oh Bree, it was a disaster, lol! The frosting was delicious, but I am going to have to make sure to bring something to clean myself up with next time!
